This historic area has undergone a stunning transformation in recent years, with new shops, restaurants, attractions, and event spaces popping up daily. And one of the most recent additions, the DC Water headquarters—aka our venue HQO—in Navy Yard is one of the most impressive.
Our exclusive new waterfront venue in Navy Yard features over 30,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space with a rooftop boasting 360-degree views of the city. Whether you’re searching for a spot to host your wedding or a corporate gala, our flexible event space can be catered to your unique occasion.

Due to the city statute for building heights, you’re almost guaranteed to have stunning views every time you find a rooftop rental in DC. But the HQO Rooftop is something special—it overlooks the Anacostia River on one side and our growing Navy Yard community on the other.
As you emerge from the building overlooking the most spectacular views, you’ll also be wowed by the landscaping that creates a lush botanic garden you wouldn’t expect floors above the ground. Event planners will love the fact that there’s also a freight elevator that goes to the roof and our on-site catering kitchen, so you can rest assured that food will be served efficiently and piping hot!
Fun Fact: An event at our Navy Yard rooftop venue can also count towards your corporate CSR goals, as all the rainwater that falls on the roof is collected and reused throughout the building for restrooms and plant irrigation.

On the ground level, the patio features outdoor event space right on the Anacostia River. Right beside the HQO building, you’ll find a beautifully adaptable space with gray wood flooring that is super unique for a Navy Yard event space. It can be designed to be elegant and romantic for weddings or ultra-modern for corporate functions. The only limit is your creativity!
Fun Fact: All the foliage that you find peppered around HQO is native to the area, and we have cultivated it as a part of the building’s LEED Platinum Certification.
Perfect For: Company barbecues, conferences, workshops, cocktail hours, or receptions. The area is permitted for tenting, so while it’s outdoors, it’s actually an all-weather space that won’t require a rain plan.

The HQO lobby area offers 13,270 square feet of flexible event space that’s uniquely configured because of the pump station cutouts. It boasts a stunning design with a modern vibe, making it an ideal space for social events, weddings, corporate events, and more.
Plus, since the entire building is in such an ideal location, it’s easily accessible by public transportation, which guests will love.
Fun Fact: The venue swas built around an existing pump station, which is what caused the unique shape. You’ll find a handful of cutouts in the pump station throughout the lobby to take advantage of this connection.

If you want an all-in-one event space in Navy Yard, this is ideal.
The Atrium offers not only a pre-function space overlooking the river but also six breakout rooms off of the space for super easy access. Great for those who want to host round-robin breakout sessions or have small group meeting requirements but want room for a buffet area. We’ll move out the existing furniture so that you can truly transform the space into whatever you desire.
Fun Fact: The building features tinted glass sunshades to reduce energy use while maximizing daylight and the panoramic Anacostia River views. This also helps reduce the glare on presentation screens, making it ideal for daytime meetings and events.

Now, the boardroom at HQO isn’t what you’d expect. It’s not a small room with a conference table by any means. It’s actually our state-of-the-art Navy Yard event space with built-in audio-visual capabilities, including a projector and six simultaneous displays that easily stream via HDMI plug-in.
The floor-to-ceiling windows offer guests a unique view of the river and natural sunlight that many other event spaces in the area don’t offer. This is great for keeping attendees’ attention during conferences and meetings.
Fun Fact: We use sustainable event materials, such as digital event programs and recycled paper, to reduce waste and promote sustainability.
