ABOUT HQO

Make your next event an unforgettable occasion at HQO, DC Water’s stunning glass waterfront headquarters. Located in Navy Yard, HQO offers five unique indoor and outdoor spaces for your event, each with a dazzling view of the Anacostia River and the DC skyline.

The new headquarters, Certified LEED Platinum, embraces the future in sustainable design and construction. The heat from the pumping station’s wastewater treatment operations helps condition the new building; a 30,000-gallon cistern captures rainwater for reuse onsite, and tinted glass sunshades reduce energy use while maximizing daylighting and the panoramic Anacostia River views.

Our flexible space can accommodate events large and small, formal and fun, from dream weddings to corporate galas accommodating up to 200 guests. Our five spaces can be rented individually or as a package so you can right-size the rental to your special occasion. HQO Events is managed by Blue Drop, the non-profit affiliate of DC Water.

Lovesha Graham

Events Manager

Lovesha is thrilled to be managing the events program at DC Water's beautiful new HQO facility. She’s been managing the space since 2020 and can’t wait to help you book your event. Lovesha knows the ins and outs of HQO. From 2011 to 2022, she managed support functions for the IT Department and provided executive-level assistance to the Vice President at DC Water. Lovesha is a seasoned Executive Assistant with over 20 years in the field. Lovesha enjoys working out and spending time with her daughters and puppy in her spare time.

Adam Lawrence

ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR

Adam is a graduate of Morgan State University with a bachelors in Health Education and a concentration in Community Health. He previously worked at National Institutes of Health for 12 years. Adam is an assistant football coach for Ron Brown Preparatory School in NE, DC. He enjoys watching and playing sports and spending time with his wife and two sons. Adam is responsible for the administrative processes, functions, and activities of Blue Drop and supports special projects across the organization.

Terry Suggs

EVENT CAPTAIN

Terry is the onsite point of contact for event host/planners and all that is needed from start to finish of your event program. He has 22 years of combined experience in the catering and hospitality space. Terry is responsible for load in/load out procedures with caterers and their staff. As an avid golfer, Terry also enjoys local live sporting events and working out.

Francesca Valente

VICE PRESIDENT

Francesca has been with Blue Drop, DC Water’s nonprofit arm that manages HQO Events, since the beginning. She runs the operations and day-to-day work at Blue Drop, and if she’s giving you a tour of HQO, will be sure to tell you all about DC Water’s fertilizer Bloom. She is an avid gardener and yoga instructor.
